Keepin’ it Simple: Everyday Hair Routine

    April 16, 2018

    Hola friends!

I am not one to talk much about hair because frankly, I am not the best at being exploratory with my hairstyles or hair routine. I tend to stay with what works and not change it up too much. However, many of you asked to see what I use on my hair to style it on a daily basis. Most of the products I will talk about are very natural and free of the most common chemicals such as sulfates, parabens, synthetic colors etc. While I cannot promise that these products will work for everyone, it is what works well for me. As a head’s up, I have very fine, wavy hair. While my hair does hold texture better due to the waves, I have fine hair so volume is something I am always seeking. Many of the products that I use are combat limp, dull and damaged hair. (Sorry hair for bleaching you for one year straight. Eeek!)

    On to the routine!

I use a hair towel to dry my hair about 75% of the way. This hair towel is my saving grace. It’s great to keep on if you are just letting your hair air dry because it makes it dry super fast without damage. While my hair is slightly damp still, I put a couple of products in it.

    haircare, coconut oil

First I will put in my 2chic Blackberry & Coconut Milk Repairing Leave-In Conditioning & Styling Elixir to give my hair an extra boost of hydration. This stuff smells like beach paradise! Next, I will put the Verb Volume Spray onto my roots for an extra boost of volume and tousle it through. The last product I put in is my Oliology 10-in-1 multipurpose spray which is what I use as a  heat protectant. It has coconut oil as the base which also keeps my hair looking shiny and healthy.

As I said above, I typically let my hair air dry. In the case that I don’t have time to let it sit, I will use my blow dryer to dry it. I always blow dry upside down so that I increase the volume otherwise, my hair gets plastered to my head… not a good look.

Then I proceed to style my hair as my mood dictates, sometimes loose curls and other times straight or in a topknot. I don’t get crazy and creative with styles, occasional braids pop in when I am really in the mood to style my hair, but that’s about it. I am BORING people.

To finish my hair, I use two products. Let’s be real though when I am in a rush this last step totally gets skipped. The AG Tousled Texture is my holy grail for adding volume and that “undone” texture. It lasts a long time and when you feel your hair going flat you can simply joosh it a little and it goes back to VA VA VOOM. If I feel like I need a little more shine, I add the tiniest amount of the Nume Argan Oil to my ends to calm frizz.

That is it, ladies and gentleman. I really don’t do anything too extensive or special, although when I look at this post I realize I use a lot more product than I ever thought.

Comment below and let me know if you use any of the products I use. I would love to hear from you.

    Until next time,

    N.
