Perfume Obsession: My Light & Fresh Go-To Scents

    February 8, 2018

Perfumes are a bit of an investment. With perfumes ranging from $40-$200 bucks, it can be a bit of a cringe-worthy moment walking up to the counter to purchase one. HOWEVER, investing in good perfumes is worth the money. They will last longer, have higher grade oils in them, and I don’t know about you, but having a familiar scent on you that feels like your own just gives my mood a boost.

I have been building my collection over the years, but I tend to keep it on the smaller side so as not to get too overwhelmed. Perfumes have expiration dates of about 3-5 years, so narrowing down your collection helps keep them fresh during use. Storage is important with perfumes as well, so keep yours out of those sunny areas. I keep mine in my bathroom closet with all my skincare and beauty bits and this is a perfect cool and dark place for them.

Ok enough rambling, on to the scents! I have always been one for clean, crisp scents. Whether it is floral based or citrus based, I probably have it on my list of “to-buy.” I like my fragrances to be balanced, so I steer away from anything too sweet aka Lip Smackers  type scents… Remember those?!

    Marc Jacobs Dot

I used to be a Daisy fiend, but then I smelled Dot and I became loyal to this little scent instead. It’s so feminine and I love how heavy it is on the fruit notes.

    Notes:
Red Berries, Dragonfruit, Honeysuckle, Jasmine, Coconut Water, Orange Blossom, Vanilla, Driftwood, Musk.

    Elizabeth Arden Green Tea

I’ve been wearing this perfume since I was in middle school, so it’s safe to say that it’s a bit of a sentimental scent to me. It is the perfect day time fragrance, because it can sprayed throughout the day without feeling too overpowering. It has a nice pleasant smell reminiscent of green tea, but the lemon gives it a nice kick.

    Notes:

Bergamot, Caraway, Fruity Rhubarb, Lemon, Orange Zest

    Issey Miyake L’eau D’Issey

This scent is one I like to transition into the night, because it has a bit of the musk note at the end of it. I like wearing this into the winter months because it’s a bit of a heavier fragrance.

    Notes:
Lotus, Freesia, Cyclamen, Rose Water, Fresh Peonies, Carnation, White Lilies, Precious Woods, Osmanthus, Tuberose, Amberseed, Musk.

    Viktor & Rolf FlowerBomb

When people smell this fragrance they associate it with me, so you can say it’s my signature perfume. It’s part of the spicier family with the addition of Patchouli, but don’t let this scare you. This scent is nowhere near the smell you associate with hippie shops. It’s more of a sweet, citrus scent and it’s definitely my most repurchased scent.

    Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Patchouli

Do you own any of my go-to scents? What are your fragrance favorites? I’m always on the hunt for moreeeee. Comment down below, I’d love to hear from you.

    Until next time,

    N.
