I just recently discovered that H&M had a home line and I am thoroughly impressed! I even placed a giant order the night of my discovery. Since some of you may not have the discovered the H&M home beast yet, I assume you would enjoy a mini review of sorts.
- Price: Similar to H&M’s clothing line, all of items in their home line are very affordable. Prices range from $4 for a cushion to $249 for a full sized rug. I would say the prices are pretty comparable to a store like Ikea.
- Quality: The quality is pretty fair for the price point. I ordered a vase and the color was true to the image and the glass is pretty sturdy. The pillows I received were of soft quality and the stitching was strong. All in all, for the price, the quality was pretty good.
- Style & Products: This is their strongest category. They have the simplicity of Scandinavian design , but they also keep some of their items on par with current trends i.e. the use of metallics was common throughout many of their storage products. None of their stuff was overly gawdy and they had great use of color and neutrals in all of their fabric products. I really enjoyed that they had the products separated by room categories. This made it really easy to search for items that you were intending to be for a specific room. It also gives you an idea of how the designers meant for the products to be originally used, which I think greatly helps when styling the end result. Furthermore, I enjoyed the fact that many of their products had a cohesive feel to them, so it really felt like a true “line.”
- Shipping: The products came in about a week, which is standard. Everything came nicely shipped and glassware was packaged well. They also offer free shipping for any orders over $40, which I thought was a steal! For anyone spending under $40, the shipping is a flat rate of $5.95- again a steal, shipping is usually much more these days.
All in all, I am happy with my purchases and with the items that H&M is putting out into the world. For a person who has an eye for stylish and timeless pieces, but is on a budget, H&M home is worth checking out.
Until next time,
